Tripadvisor: Hanoi is the world's most attractive culinary capital

The leading online travel platform Tripadvisor has just announced a list of 15 cities with the most attractive cuisines in the world, including the capital Hanoi with its sophisticated and attractive culinary culture.

In this list, America has Hawaii and New Orleans (USA), Jamaica, Mexico City; Europe has Brussels (Belgium), Naples (Italy), Athens (Greece), Barcelona (Spain), Paris (France); Asia has Bangkok (Thailand), Kyoto (Japan), Hanoi (Vietnam), New Delhi (India); in addition, there are Istanbul (Turkey), Marrakech (Morocco).

Tripadvisor said that one of the best ways to experience a destination is through cuisine. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations, taste local community dishes that have been transformed and experience modern culinary “concepts” created by young “culinary creators”.

Tripadvisor recommends visitors to Hanoi to enjoy the capital’s iconic dishes, from street food stalls to Michelin-starred high-end restaurants. Hanoi cuisine is famous for its sophistication and lightness with a variety of natural flavors from local ingredients, clear broths, fresh vegetables and spices. Bun cha - a typical dish of Hanoi is the perfect proof of this statement. The dish combines white, chewy noodles dipped in sweet and sour fish sauce, served with fragrant grilled meat.

The Old Quarter in the center of the capital is an extremely bustling place, where visitors can enjoy countless attractive street foods and unique local specialties such as banh cuon, pho, cha ca... And one of the impressive drinks for visitors is certainly coffee with a variety of versions such as egg coffee, salt coffee, iced milk coffee...

Exploring Hanoi cuisine, visitors can freely experience or choose culinary tours around the Old Quarter. Local people will take visitors to delicious, affordable places to eat, vendors will sometimes introduce the origin and history of the dish as well as some famous landmarks of the capital.
